Today there is an active search for ways to develop and improve production processes at the enterprises of the industrial sector in Russia with modern concepts and methods of production activities. In today's world of competition on the market is growing in popularity among industrial companies become lean methods. Lean management is a broad concept, aimed at the elimination of waste and the optimization of business processes – from the stage of product development and production, to direct interaction with suppliers and customers. The essence of lean production is not to reduce costs, which could then lead to a decrease in product quality, but on the contrary – to reduce losses, which are present in every workplace. Russian companies, along with companies in developed countries recently embarked on the implementation of lean manufacturing. The article shows the main advantages of the concept of lean manufacturing and the results of its development in Russia is not the moment. The study presents some of the problems faced by domestic enterprises in the implementation of lean manufacturing and shows the need for further implementation and development of this concept in domestic enterprises.
